So first, focus on determining a range of dates that'll work for you. The average engagement lasts anywhere between 6 months to 15 months, but also think about what season you'd prefer, any major holidays or family events you'd like to avoid conflict with.
SECOND BIG DECISION
Before you try on a single wedding dress, look at the big picture and imagine the style and vibe of your dream wedding. Is it at an outdoor estate garden, a luxury boutique hotel, or a barefoot ceremony on a beach? While you're picturing your perfect wedding, here are some key questions to consider: modern, classic, romantic, vintage, rustic or all-out glam? Fancy, casual or somewhere in between? To figure-out your budget, you'll need to determine who is paying for what. Are your parents paying for the wedding, and your fiancé parents paying for the welcome dinner? Or are you and your fiancé covering all of the costs? Figuring out who is paying for each event, and how much they are realistically willing to contribute is your first major hurdle.
